
Established in 1986 with 18 founding institutions, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).
The organization has grown to represent more than 470 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain. Its member institutions in the U.S. together educate more than two-thirds of the nation’s Hispanic college students.
HACU is committed to improving access to and the quality of educational opportunities for Hispanic students and encouraging the development of its member institutions. By providing internships, scholarships, college retention and advancement programs, pre-collegiate support, and career development opportunities to thousands of Hispanic students, HACU remains committed to student success in higher education and beyond. The association headquarters are located in San Antonio, Texas, with offi ces in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento, Calif.
