Broadway Bank Promotes Harvey P. Hartenstine to President and Chief Banking Executive
SAN ANTONIO, TX [June 10, 2021] – Broadway Bank’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the promotion of Harvey P. Hartenstine to President and Chief Banking Executive. This promotion is in recognition of Hartenstine’s many years of high performance, dedication and leadership on behalf of Broadway Bank. The promotion comes as the Bank continues to position itself for aggressive growth in South Central and Central Texas by expanding services, opening more facilities and hiring more talent in the region.
Hartenstine has more than 40 years of experience in the banking and financial industry, and has held key leadership roles at the Bank, industry and trade organizations, and non-profit groups. Harvey first joined Broadway in 1992 and was appointed to the Bank’s Board of Directors in 2019.

Hartenstine has provided leadership to all lines of business and markets throughout his career at Broadway. His responsibilities include oversight over strategic business development, delivering custom financial solutions and exceptional customer experiences across Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Private Banking, Business Banking, Consumer Mortgage, Business Solutions and Facilities. Harvey also served as President of the Austin Region where he led the Bank’s successful expansion north in 2012, and Group Executive Vice President–Division Manager of Private Banking where he held responsibility for sales and operational performance.

Hartenstine has a passion for sharing his banking experience with future leaders and has served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio College, Our Lady of the Lake University, and American Institute of Banking. Hartenstine earned degrees from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a Master of Business in International Finance from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University.
The San Antonio native is committed to serving the community and is active on several boards including CP Legacy Assets, Mission Road Ministries, as well as the advisory board for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Hartenstine is also a member of the board for the President’s Council of Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. He served on the Founding Board of Directors for the San Antonio Business Development Fund and is an alum of Leadership San Antonio’s (LSA) class of 1999 – 2000.
