10 ways you can go green
We all call Earth home so let’s do our part to keep our communities clean, happy and thriving. At Broadway Bank, we are committed to going green in our workspaces with our ongoing recycling program that reduces our use of one-time-use plastics, provides our employees with recyclable materials, incorporates energy-saving equipment and policies into our day-to-day work, and provides recycling bins throughout our offices. We asked our BWell Corporate Responsibility committee how they keep environmental sustainability top of mind.
"There are so many little things we can do that make a big difference at home and at work," said Vanessa Garcia Rodriguez, Commercial Product Support Analyst. "And at Broadway Bank, as part of our commitment to serving our communities, we're giving our Bankers resources to make simple changes for a sustainable lifestyle.
Check out our list of 10 ways you can help protect the Earth all year long.
1. Turn the lights off
2. Recycle
3. Plant a tree
4. Shred and recycle your personal documents
Broadway Bank hosts an annual document shredding event for the community in the spring. Our Community Shred Day event allows customers to bring in confidential documents that need to be shredded and we take care of the rest, at no charge. Shredding and recycling paper is a great way to clear the paper clutter in your home, keep personal information from getting into the wrong hands, and divert paper from landfills to help our environment. Visit our event page for details.
5. Sign up for eDocuments to reduce the use of paper
6. Reduce your use of single-use plastics
7. Turn off and unplug your computer and electronic devices at night
8. Use reusable shopping bags
9. Find a crafting project that gives disposable items a new life. For example, make a bird feeder out of a milk carton or soda bottle, or create your own greeting cards using recycled materials.
10. Start a compost pile at home or tap into your city's organics recycling resources
Broadway Bank customers save time and money by signing up for eDocuments. Electronic documents require no physical shredding or storage. Less paper mail is better for the environment. Sounds like a win-win to us! Log in to your mobile banking account to sign up.
