David Bohne

David Bohne

President and CEO

David Bohne joined Broadway Bank in 2016 as President and CEO. Prior to joining Broadway Bank, he spent 22 years in various roles at USAA Federal Saving Bank with the last 7 years as the bank’s president. David has been a member of the board since 2016 and currently serves on the bank’s Directors Loan Review Committee, Directors Trust Committee, Directors Asset Liability Committee and Board Governance and Development Committee.

David currently serves as a member of the Bexar County United Way Executive Committee and Audit Committee; he is a member of the Haven for Hope Board of Directors, the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation Strategic Planning Steering Committee and the Texas Bankers Association. He also serves as congregational president of Concordia Church. He formerly served on the boards of the San Antonio Children’s Shelter, United Services Organization (USO) of San Antonio and Consumer Bankers Association.

David is a native of San Antonio and has a Master of Business Administration from The University of Incarnate Word and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

David Ladensohn has been a board member since 2013 and currently serves on the bank’s Directors Loan Review Committee, Directors Asset Liability Committee, Directors Audit and Compliance Review Committee, Directors Compensation Committee and Directors Board Governance and Development Committee. He retired in 2006 as Chairman & CEO of KLN Steel Products Company. Prior to spending 21 years at KLN, David worked for Bank of America in a number of capacities including Vice President and Manager of the Hong Kong Corporate Banking Office. David currently serves on the board of C&S Wholesale Grocers of Keene, New Hampshire, the 10th largest private company in the United States.

David is a mediator specializing in conflict prevention and resolution in complex family businesses, and inter-generational wealth transfers. He volunteers at the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center. David is a native of San Antonio and holds a B.S. in Finance from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in International Business from Pepperdine University. He completed the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School and mediation training at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

Chief Banking Executive

Hartenstine joined Broadway Bank in 1992 and presently serves as the Chief Banking Executive. Hartenstine provides strategic leadership in all markets for Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Private Banking, Business Banking, Consumer Mortgage, Business Solutions and Facilities. He has held numerous leadership roles to include President of Broadway Bank Austin Region where he spearheaded the bank’s expansion north in 2012 and Group Executive Vice President – Division Manager of Private Bank where he held responsibility for sales and operational performance in 2003.

Hartenstine has more than 39 years of experience in the banking and financial industry. He has degrees from the Graduate School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a Master of Business in International Finance from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University.

In addition to his executive career, Hartenstine serves on the board of directors for Broadway Bank and the Texas Bankers Association (TBA), as well as the advisory board for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He also holds board membership positions with several organizations such as the President’s Council of Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation Board of Directors. Previously, Hartenstine served as Chairman on the TBA Services Company (TBASCO) board, and as a member of the board of directors for Zach Theatre Trustees, Mission Road Ministries and Crosspoint Inc. He chaired the Annual KLRN San Antonio Wine Festival, the 2003 Mission Road Ministries annual gala and served in various capacities such as San Antonio Fiesta Commissioner, Founding Board of Director for the San Antonio Business Development Fund and completed the Leadership San Antonio (LSA) class of 1999—2000.

San Antonio Market Executive

Steve York serves as San Antonio Market Executive for Broadway Bank in San Antonio. Steve provides leadership, strategic direction, and revenue growth for the Middle Market, Commercial Real Estate, Business Banking, and Treasury Solutions Sales and Operations in San Antonio and the contiguous counties.

Prior to assuming his current role Steve was the Group Executive Vice President for Commercial Banking at Broadway Bank. With over 38 years of experience in the commercial industry, Steve has worked closely with some of San Antonio’s top leading commercial companies and business owners and possesses a strong business acumen to execute the bank’s vision successfully.

Steve earned a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and today is a member of the Advisory Board and the Executive Committee of the Texas A&M University Mays School of Business Banking Program.

Steve serves the San Antonio community through his involvement in several organizations such as SAMMinistries, San Antonio Manufacturers Association, and Respite Care of San Antonio where he is currently Chair-Elect.

Karen Mawyer

Mawyer leads teams at 35 financial centers across the San Antonio and Austin regions offering excellence in relationship banking, private and business banking and wealth management services. Mawyer builds upon the Broadway Bank foundation of elevating the customer experience by focusing on simple financial solutions, innovative products and services, and excellent customer service. She has 25 years of experience in the banking industry and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University. Mawyer is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Product Manager, and is Net Promoter Certified. She supports her community as a board member with Avance San Antonio and as a volunteer for United Way. She previously served as a board member for Family Violence Prevention Services in San Antonio.
