Harvey Hartenstine
Chief Banking Executive
Hartenstine joined Broadway Bank in 1992 and presently serves as the Chief Banking Executive. Hartenstine has been a member of the board since 2019 and currently serves on the bank’s Directors Loan Review Committee, Directors Trust Committee, Directors Asset Liability Committee and Senior Officer’s Loan Committee.
Hartenstine provides strategic leadership in all markets for Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Private Banking, Business Banking, Consumer Mortgage, Business Solutions and Facilities. He has held numerous leadership roles to include President of Broadway Bank Austin Region where he spearheaded the bank’s expansion north in 2012 and Group Executive Vice President – Division Manager of Private Bank where he held responsibility for sales and operational performance in 2003.
Hartenstine has more than 40 years of experience in the banking and financial industry. He has degrees from the Graduate School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a Master of Business in International Finance from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University.
In addition to his executive career, Hartenstine serves on the board of directors for CP Legacy Assets, Mission Road Ministries, as well as the advisory board for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He also holds board membership positions with several organizations such as the President’s Council of Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation Board of Directors. Previously, Hartenstine served as a board member for Texas Bankers Association (TBA), Chairman on the TBA Services Company (TBASCO) board and as a member of the board of directors for Zach Theatre Trustees and Crosspoint Inc. He chaired the Annual KLRN San Antonio Wine Festival, the 2003 Mission Road Ministries annual gala and served in various capacities such as San Antonio Fiesta Commissioner, Founding Board of Director for the San Antonio Business Development Fund and completed the Leadership San Antonio (LSA) class of 1999—2000.
