Jeannette Westbrook, Senior Vice-President and Community Reinvestment Manager was awarded the Champion of Change award on August 14 by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at this year’s Business Awards Dinner. Her pioneering philanthropic efforts through her role at Broadway Bank began 25 years ago when she took part in establishing the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program.
With over 45 years of banking experience, Westbrook instituted the program that has evolved the volunteer and community outreach efforts made by all employees at Broadway Bank. Through the Care Corps program, employees can choose volunteer opportunities with organizations that align with Broadway Bank’s core values.
Each year, Broadway Bank employees collectively average 14,000 volunteer hours. “Jeanette’s vibrant passion towards philanthropy has been the driving force in building Broadway Bank’s commitment to serving the community,” said David Bohne, CEO of Broadway Bank, “It’s this passion that is contagious for all our Broadway Bankers.”
“I’ve always admired the leadership of non-profit organizations. How they give their time selflessly and have made it their life mission to serve others. I’m proud to be a part of that movement with my role at Broadway Bank,” Jeannette Westbrook said in response to being a recipient for the award.
She gives thanks to the leadership at Broadway Bank for permitting her to take on new opportunities within the program and having an aligned understanding of the importance of making a difference in the community.
Broadway Bank is proud of the efforts and change that Jeannette has driven throughout her career with us. Our team rallies together to celebrate her distinction as we continue to honor our Champion of Change.
