Founded in 1975 by Steve Burns, a young racer frustrated with the limitations of existing fuel, VP began with a single location and a single goal: to create the best race fuel possible. From those humble beginnings, VP has grown into a global company with a reputation for cutting-edge technology and a commitment to helping racers win.

“We have come a long way from making just one race fuel to producing over 80 custom race fuel blends sold worldwide. However, we have diversified significantly beyond race fuel, offering products for all manner of consumers and businesses. We sell racing and street-legal motor oils for cars and trucks, as well as for off-road bikes and trucks. We also have fuel additives for your car, as well as fuels and lubricants for your lawn mower and other power equipment, and appearance products to keep everything looking good,” said Cerwick. “We have nearly 400 VP Racing branded c-stores licensed, flying the VP colors across the country.”
Looking towards the future, VP is at the forefront of developing environmentally friendly aviation gas, a testament to their unwavering commitment to innovation. Cerwick adds, “Change and continuous improvement is in our DNA.”
But VP Racing Fuels isn’t all about speed and horsepower. They are also a significant job creator in San Antonio and across the United States, with a team that shares their passion for performance. Since the beginning, VP has created hundreds of jobs, mostly in San Antonio but also in Tennessee, Delaware, Indiana and California.
