Broadway Bank Announces Three New Appointments to Board of Directors to Help Guide Strategic Growth

In preparation for its strategic expansion in 2022 and beyond, Broadway Bank announced the appointment of three new members to the board of directors. Hitesh “Hi” Leva, Chief Revenue Officer at San Antonio-based Enflux, an on-demand edtech assessment and accreditation platform; Julia R. Reinhart, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Valero Energy Corporation; and Charles “Charlie” E. Cheever, III, Founder of investment firm Corsair Partners and grandson of Broadway Bank’s founders Col. Charles E. Cheever and his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Cheever.

The addition of Leva, Reinhart and Cheever will strengthen Broadway Bank’s board of directors with a broader range of transformative skills, experience and knowledge necessary to guide the bank successfully into the future. In December 2021, Broadway Bank announced plans for expansion into a new Texas market in 2022.

“We are honored to welcome Hi, Julia and Charlie III to the Broadway Bank board of directors,” said Board Chairman David Ladensohn. “Their collective expertise in vital growth, innovation and development will be an invaluable addition as Broadway Bank bolsters new business opportunities in Texas and continues modernizing today’s banking experience.”

Hitesh Leva

Leva has called San Antonio home since 2014 and is a strategic growth, innovation and business development executive bringing nearly three decades of expertise in the dynamic commercial and consumer technology sectors to the Broadway Bank board. For more than two decades, Leva has held primarily global executive leadership responsibility for large, complex public and private technology organizations. Leva has also been a key executive with various startup disruptors, and he has served as an investor, advisor and/or board director with various smaller privately-owned companies. He has experience within the technology sector across telecommunications, specialty finance, fintech, advertising and media, staffing, and legal and educational technology.

Julia Reinhart

Reinhart is an accomplished senior corporate executive bringing more than fifteen years of complex, large-scale corporate leadership experience to the Broadway Bank board. She has served in various key executive roles at Valero Energy (NYSE: VLO) Corporation since joining the company in 2006, including in legal, corporate communications, human resources and administrative services. During her time at Valero, the company has been a widely-recognized leader in its highly transformative and critical industry sector for corporate performance, environment and sustainability, safety, diversity and inclusion, and community investment. Throughout her career, Julia has served on various community and non-profit boards including the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber and as Chair of AVANCE San Antonio, and currently serves as a board member for ChildSafe and Incarnate Word High School.  Julia has been recognized by Latino Leaders Magazine as one of its Top Latinos in C-Suite positions, by Hispanic Executive Magazine as one of its Top Latina Leaders, and was named 2018 Woman of the Year by the San Antonio Business Journal. Reinhart is a native San Antonian.

Charlie Cheever III

Cheever is an experienced banking and finance professional with over 38 years of middle market lending and investment experience. Prior to co-founding Corsair Partners in 1996, Charlie spent ten years at Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, where he served as an officer in the Recovery and Restructuring Group, working with companies ranging from multi-million dollar corporations to small, family-owned businesses. He has also founded several successful businesses in the U.S. and abroad and has experience investing internationally in a diversified set of public and private companies in various industries. Cheever has been active in supporting San Antonio and the surrounding areas through investment and transactional support for traditional and emerging technology businesses. He recently served on the Nominating and Governance Committee for Broadway Bank and is a supporter of Alamo Colleges, Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and The University of Texas Health and Science Center at San Antonio.

The role of the Broadway Bank board of directors is to provide leadership and strategic guidance to oversee management’s implementation of strategic initiatives, oversee risk management activities, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key responsibilities for the board include setting objectives for the company and approving strategic direction and initiatives, providing insight and oversight for issues such as product and service delivery, care and development of human capital, marketing strategies, optimized use of technology, serving community needs, and cultivation and development of new business.
