Harvey Hartenstine Wins Volunteer Leadership Award

Harvey PHartenstine

Broadway Bank is proud to announce that Harvey P. Hartenstine, Broadway Bank President and Chief Banking Executive, is the esteemed recipient of the 2023 Richard Goldsmith Volunteer Leadership Award, given by Crosspoint, Inc. This community organization presents this award annually to honor individuals who exemplify the exceptional volunteer leadership embodied by the first Crosspoint board president, Richard Goldsmith, and other early citizen leaders like the late Helen Austin. Recipients of this award demonstrate unwavering dedication to the Crosspoint mission and have been instrumental in providing resources, guidance and opportunities for tens of thousands of Crosspoint graduates to achieve fully restored citizenship.

Members of the award committee shared this about Harvey: Harvey P. Hartenstine, a remarkable volunteer and community role model, has shown outstanding commitment in various capacities. Not only has he consistently provided support, but his willingness to challenge the status quo and reevaluate strategies has proven invaluable.

Harvey's journey with Crosspoint began in 1992 when he joined the board of directors. He later served as the Board President in 1996 and 1997. In 2009, Harvey played a pivotal role in leading the organization's first capital campaign, which facilitated the acquisition of Crosspoint's flagship facility, The Summit. His dedication continued as he served on the Advisory Board until May 2020, when he assumed the role of Chair of CP Legacy Assets—a 501(c)(2) organization created to manage Crosspoint's real estate separately from its human service activities. Today, he continues to serve the organization as Chairman of CP Legacy Assets, L.L.C, Crosspoint’s real estate holding company.

Broadway Bank is thrilled and honored to share this exciting news and feels immense gratitude to Harvey for his enduring role as a volunteer leader at Crosspoint and within the communities we serve.

ABOUT CROSSPOINT, INC.

Crosspoint exists to build safer and stronger communities by empowering individuals to lead productive lives. Crosspoint’s Annual Community Restoration Luncheon has been conducted for decades with friends, supporters, partners and other stakeholders gathered to hear of program successes and stories of personal restoration. This event announces Crosspoint’s organizational theme for the year. Then the audience is introduced to successful Graduates of the Year, one of whom bravely takes the podium to share the challenges and successes they experienced in their journey toward personal restoration. Each year, a respected community leader is selected to share his or her passion for the Crosspoint mission and the issues related to carrying out our services. The luncheon is concluded by meeting the new board chair and incoming board members.
