Broadway Bank Receives Prestigious Community Bridge Builder Award from Mayor's Fitness Council

San Antonio, TX – Broadway Bank is the proud recipient of the 2023 Community Bridge Builder Award from the Mayor's Fitness Council. The honor was announced at the Annual Full Council Breakfast and Awards on Wednesday, December 6, 2023—an event celebrating community collaboration and dedication to the well-being of San Antonio residents.

The Community Bridge Builder Award is exclusively granted by the Mayor’s Fitness Council to organizations or individuals committed to fostering health and accessibility across Bexar County and San Antonio.

This year, Broadway Bank provided $5,000 to fund two health and wellness projects from the Mayor's Fitness Council Student Ambassador program:

• The “Healthy for the Homeless” project was led by a Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering student to feed the homeless population in that community, fully funding the program for a year.
• The “School Field Renovation” project revitalized a school field at Whittier Middle School to provide a safe outdoor space for students to utilize for outdoor recreation, physical education classes, as well as for sports activities. 

These projects focus on holistic well-being, encompassing mental health, physical activity, good nutrition, creative play, and civic engagement. More information on both initiatives can be found here.
