Broadway Bank Unveils Renovated Main Financial Center

Main Financial Center Building Reopens with Modern Design While Honoring Rich Heritage

Broadway Bank, a trusted financial institution serving the community since 1941, is proud to announce the grand reopening of its newly renovated west lobby at the Main Financial Center. The iconic building at 1177 NE Loop 410 at Nacogdoches first opened its doors in 1968 and has undergone a comprehensive 10-month transformation to enhance the customer experience while preserving its historic significance.

The revitalized west lobby opens to the public on Wednesday, April 2 at 9 a.m., featuring a modern aesthetic, innovative technology, and customer meeting spaces. The renovation includes an affluent private banking and wealth management collaborative area, creating an environment specifically designed for meaningful client engagement.

"For more than half a century, our Main Financial Center has stood as a cornerstone of Broadway Bank's commitment to this community," said David Bohne, CEO of Broadway Bank. "This renovation represents more than just updating a physical space — it's about redefining how we engage with our customers and deliver the personalized financial services that have distinguished Broadway Bank for generations. We've created an environment that honors our rich history while embracing the future of banking."

The west lobby renovation marks the first phase of the headquarters’ comprehensive modernization project. The second phase, focused on the East Lobby, commenced on March 19, with construction expected to last approximately three months. Upon completion, the fully renovated Main Financial Center will offer a cohesive, state-of-the-art banking experience.

“This project has been a delicate balance of honoring Broadway bank’s legacy while creating a space that meets the evolving needs of our customers and employees,” said Karen Mawyer, SR EVP, head of Corporate Support and Residential Lending. “Every design decision was made with both our history and future in mind, including our relationship-based approach to banking while incorporating cutting-edge technology that enhances the experience. We’re very proud of this transformation.”

The Main Financial Center has been a landmark in San Antonio's financial landscape since its headquarters celebrated an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 29, 1968, presided over by then-Mayor Walter W. McAllister accompanied by co-founders Col. Charles E. and Betty Cheever. In January 2012, the bank expanded its campus with the opening of the Cheever Administration Building adjacent to the Main Financial Center, adding 80,000 square feet of office and meeting space to accommodate the institution's growth.
