Harvey Hartenstine's Hall of Fame Inductions
Broadway Bank is proud to announce that Harvey P. Hartenstine, President and Chief Banking Executive, will be inducted into two distinguished halls of fame in 2025, recognizing his exceptional contributions to banking, business and community service.
San Antonio Business Hall of Fame
On March 18, 2025, Hartenstine will be inducted into the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement, celebrating his remarkable 44-year career in banking and his significant community leadership. The 2025 Laureates, including David P. McGee and Elaine Mendoza, are local leaders whose business excellence, vision, innovation and integrity have positively impacted the San Antonio community.
Texas Bankers Legacy Hall of Fame
On May 1, 2025, Hartenstine will be honored by the Texas Bankers Legacy Hall of Fame at Sam Houston State University, acknowledging his extensive contributions to the banking industry and community. Fellow honorees include Sam H. Burris, Charles G. Cooper, Robert W. “Bobby” Hoxworth and William A. Nesbitt.
Distinguished Career Highlights
With over four decades of banking experience, Hartenstine has distinguished himself through:
- Leading Broadway Bank’s expansion into new Texas markets, where he’s held various leadership roles, including president of the Austin region and group executive vice president of private banking.
- Extensive board involvement, including The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation and Mission Road Ministries, having recently served as 2024 Shindig Co-Chair, raising over $1 million benefitting adults with special needs.
- Academic contributions, including establishing the Hartenstine Endowment at Texas State University, where he previously served as adjunct professor.
- Being recognized with the esteemed Richard Goldsmith Volunteer Leadership Award from Crosspoint, Inc.

Hartenstine holds advanced degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Our Lady of the Lake University, and Texas State University. He continues to be an active leader in San Antonio's business and philanthropic communities serving on boards and committees. He and his wife Margaret celebrate 36 years of marriage this year, and they have a daughter, Allyson.
