Celebrating Mentorship at Broadway Bank
January marks National Mentor Month, a time to recognize the valuable impact mentors have on the lives of individuals and communities. At Broadway Bank, we are proud to celebrate this month by highlighting our ongoing commitment to education through mentorship programs.
Broadway Bank Mentors and students from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, participating in the Communities In Schools InspireU mentorship program. They meet once a month at Broadway Bank’s Admin offices to discuss schoolwork, career opportunities and financial literacy.
Our dedication to education traces back to our co-founder, Elizabeth "Betty" Cheever, who was a teacher. In her honor, Broadway Bank continues to uphold a legacy of supporting education programs throughout Texas. One significant initiative is our partnership with Communities In School's InspireU Mentorship program, which commenced in 2022.
Twenty-five dedicated Broadway Bankers have pledged their time and expertise to mentor 9th-grade students from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio throughout their entire high school journey. This long-term commitment is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of mentorship.
Vanessa Villarreal, Broadway Bank’s Care Corps & Communications Officer, shared her thoughts on the InspireU program, emphasizing the importance of being a mentor to local students. "Mentorship is a powerful tool for personal and academic growth. By investing in the lives of these students, we contribute to the future success of our community. The InspireU program allows us to make a lasting impact, and we are honored to be a part of these students' journeys."
In addition to the InspireU program, Broadway Bank takes pride in its Care Corps employee volunteer program, where education stands as a pillar. The Broadway Bank Care Corps mission is to provide access to academic achievement and resources to support families. By supporting education and social services, we believe our communities will be healthy and stronger for brighter tomorrows.
Thank you, Broadway Bankers!
