Fraud Alert: Protect Yourself from Rising Scam Tactics
Here’s How to Stay Protected
At Broadway, we’re fiercely local and proudly Texan. So when we see an increase in fraud targeting our friends and neighbors and their businesses, it’s our priority to alert you.
Right now, these attempts are in the form of phone calls, phishing emails, fake invoices, spoofed executive requests or fraudulent payment instructions. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a Broadway Banker asking for bank or personal information, please hang up and call us directly.
Broadway Bank will never ask for your sign-in or online banking security codes. Never share an authentication code or PIN with anyone.
Please be vigilant:
- Verify Requests: Always double-check payment or data requests, especially those involving urgency or secrecy. It never hurts to hang up the phone and call us directly. You can also visit your local financial center to verify requests in person.
- Check Email Addresses Carefully: Fraudsters often use addresses that closely mimic legitimate ones.
- Do Not Click Suspicious Links or Open Unknown Attachments: These can install malware or direct you to fake login pages.
- Report Suspicious Activity Immediately: If you receive a questionable phone call, message or notice any unusual behavior, call Broadway Bank without delay.
REMEMBER: Broadway Bank will never ask for sensitive information, login credentials, or payment approvals outside of proper verification channels. For more tips on preventing fraud, please visit our most recent video: “How to protect you and your business from fraud attacks.”
If you ever feel that your computer or online banking credentials have been compromised, please reach out to us immediately. We can take action to help prevent any potential compromises. Thank you for banking with Broadway Bank.
