Celebrating the Season with Broadway Bankers
From decking the halls at home to enjoying local events, Broadway Bankers are celebrating the season with holiday traditions. We asked some of our bankers how they are experiencing the holiday magic this year and giving back to their communities. Check out their recommendations for seasonal activities.

What I love most about the holidays is spending time with my family. Getting together, spending quality time, watching football and making new memories is always a blast. Christmas is a time of joy, and I feel so thankful to spend it with loved ones.
This year, I was excited to volunteer with Soldier’s Angels’ holiday stockings project. Soldier’s Angels is an organization that provides aid, comfort and resources to the military and veteran community. We were able to volunteer and make holiday stockings in preparation for those deploying in the Middle East. I loved that we got the opportunity to support our troops during this holiday season and look forward to volunteering next year.

Christmas is a magical time of year. It’s a celebration of faith, a time to give thanks for the many blessings in my life and an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of Christmas with family and friends. It’s also that time of year when I’m reminded of how fortunate I am and the importance of giving back to others in need.
For the third year in a row, I led the Broadway Bank water station at the Rock n Roll San Antonio Marathon. As a runner who has run countless races, I love giving back to a sport that has given so much to me. I also like to donate holiday wish list items to local charities that distribute them to our community. For the past couple of years, I have supported the Family Service Association of San Antonio and the Animal Defense League of Texas. Broadway Bank also has an annual drive to collect pajamas for Serna Elementary in San Antonio and I enjoy providing the kids with festive pajamas for sleeping during these colder days!

What I love most about the holidays is being around loved ones. I come from a big family and there is never a dull moment when we are all together. During the holidays, while we are playing Christmas games or giving our Secret Santa gifts, the laughter never stops and the happiness takes over the room.
The holidays are always a reminder to cherish the moments we spend together and make the most of them because quality time should never be taken for granted.
In the past, I have volunteered for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life. This year the charitable campaign that touched me the most was providing meals to students in need through the San Antonio Food Bank’s Summer Snacks for Kids program and Snack Pak 4 Kids. The bank hosts an annual Snack Pak 4 Kids peanut butter drive allowing bankers to donate jars of peanut butter that are distributed to students across our community to take home on the weekends. Snack Pak 4 Kids was created to provide weekend food supplements to students who are identified by their teachers, creating food security for them over the weekend.
The Summer Snacks for Kids program provides meals for students who rely on their school lunches for a meal. Broadway Bank was the presenting sponsor of the campaign this year. It was wonderful to give back and participate in both these initiatives through Broadway Bank. I am thankful to be part of an organization that encourages community involvement and coordinates opportunities for employees to give back all year round.
